# Assessment rubrics

Every rubric used to mark a path assessment, published in full. Read them before you buy a path,
not after.

A marker scores each criterion independently. Nothing is added to a rubric after a path opens,
and the marker is never the instructor who taught you.

**Score bands:** 1 not yet, 2 approaching, 3 meets, 4 exceeds. A pass is 3 on every criterion.
Roughly one in six submissions does not pass first time. You can resubmit twice.

## Design paths

Submitted as a written case study, three to five screens.

| Criterion | What a 3 looks like |
| :--- | :--- |
| Problem framing | The problem is stated in measurable terms in the first two sentences. |
| Evidence | At least one research artefact is shown, not described. |
| Discarded direction | One alternative is shown, with the reason it was dropped. |
| Decision quality | The chosen direction follows from the evidence presented. |
| Craft | Type, spacing and hierarchy are deliberate and consistent. |
| Next step | The case names what would be fixed first, and why. |

---

## Development paths

Submitted as a repository with a readme.

| Criterion | What a 3 looks like |
| :--- | :--- |
| Correctness | The stated requirements are met and the build passes. |
| Platform understanding | The solution uses the platform rather than working around it. |
| Tests | Tests cover the behaviour that would actually break. |
| Readability | A second developer could change this without asking you. |
| Accessibility | Keyboard operable, focus visible, names announced correctly. |
| Honesty | The readme states what is incomplete and what was deliberately left out. |

---

## Marketing paths

Submitted as a campaign analysis with the working attached.

| Criterion | What a 3 looks like |
| :--- | :--- |
| Question | The analysis answers a specific decision, not a general one. |
| Method | The measurement approach fits the question and its limits are stated. |
| Numbers with ranges | Results carry uncertainty rather than false precision. |
| Attribution | The difference between caused and observed is addressed. |
| Recommendation | One clear action, with the number that would reverse it. |
| Communication | A finance team could act on the one-page summary. |

---

## Data paths

Submitted as a notebook that runs top to bottom.

| Criterion | What a 3 looks like |
| :--- | :--- |
| Question | Stated before the analysis, and answered by it. |
| Variation | Prior periods are shown before the current one is interpreted. |
| Uncertainty | Estimates carry a range, with the method named. |
| Base rates | Screening results are read against the base rate. |
| Reproducibility | The notebook runs from a clean environment. |
| Limits | The conclusion states what the analysis cannot support. |

## Appeals

If you think a criterion was misapplied, reply on the assessment thread within 30 days. A second
marker rescores that criterion only. Their score stands, whether it is higher or lower.
